What Makes Us Different?
We’re not your typical high school. Our school and faculty consistently rank the best in Indiana and the nation, and our students regularly self-report receiving millions in scholarships and financial aid from top colleges and universities within the state and across the country—from small, liberal arts schools to large research institutions and even the Ivy Leagues. Whether living on campus or commuting, you’ll be part of something pretty amazing!
The Classes (They’re Actually Fun and Engaging!)
Forget boring high school classes—ours are inspiring, innovative, and designed specifically for high achieving students. Our faculty are more than teachers; they’re professionals in their fields that all have a minimum of a master’s degree (and about a third have doctorates). The courses are innovative, dive deep, and even allow students to earn college credits. We offer college level classes, AP, dual credit, and the Indiana College Core. Our students also have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of higher-level courses at Ball State University for college credit!

It’s Not All Books and Studying
Academics are important, but we know how to have a good time too! Academy students can play intramurals, pick from over 50 student clubs, and even start their own club. Our students can also join IHSAA sports through our unique athletic partnership with Burris Laboratory School. While the Indiana Academy and Burris are two separate schools within the same building, this athletic collaboration allows our students to enjoy a fuller high school experience. With all the extracurricular activities along with community service and wellness programming created by our Student Life Counselors, there’s always something happening outside the classroom.
At the Indiana Academy, education doesn’t end in the classroom. Our amazing Student Life professionals provide resources and guidance to ensure students develop the skills to navigate a college-like environment, manage their time, study effectively, live with a roommate, and advocate for themselves. These are seriously useful skills for college and the next steps in life.
All of this happens in an amazing community of passionate, academically-driven students who share a love for learning and discovery.
