INDIANA
ACADEMY

At the Indiana Academy, students experience the best of both worlds—an engaging, college-level education combined with everything that makes high school memorable. Here, you’ll find a close-knit community of curious, motivated students who love learning, asking questions, and supporting one another.

We know high-achieving students have many educational options, and we’d love to show you what makes the Indiana Academy different. Visit campus, join one of our online programs, and discover why so many students choose to call the Academy home.

What Makes the Indiana Academy Different?

Indiana Academy students at graduation

We’re not your typical high school, and that’s exactly the point. The Indiana Academy is consistently recognized among the top public high schools* in Indiana and the nation. Our graduates earn millions of dollars in scholarships and financial aid each year and continue their education at outstanding colleges and universities across the country, from small liberal arts colleges to major research universities and Ivy League institutions.

Whether you choose to live on campus or commute each day, you’ll become part of a welcoming community where you’ll be academically stretched, supported, and inspired to reach your full potential.

Classes You’ll Actually Look Forward To

Learning here is anything but ordinary.

Our classes are designed specifically for gifted and high-ability students who are ready to think deeply, ask big questions, and explore subjects beyond the traditional high school curriculum.

Our nationally ranked faculty* aren’t just exceptional teachers, they’re experts in their fields. Every instructor holds at least a master’s degree, and nearly one-third have earned doctorates.

Students can choose from college-level courses, Advanced Placement (AP), dual-credit classes, the Indiana College Core, and even enroll in select courses at Ball State University to earn additional college credit while still in high school.

Plus, students have multiple pathways to earn Indiana’s new Honors Plus Seal.

More Than Academics

Burris and Academy soccer team

Life at the Academy doesn’t stop when classes end.

Students can participate in intramurals, choose from more than 50 student organizations, or even create a club based on their own interests. Through our unique partnership with Burris Laboratory School, Academy students may also participate in IHSAA athletics, giving students the opportunity to enjoy a well-rounded high school experience.

From leadership opportunities and community service to social events, wellness programming, and weekend activities, there’s always something happening outside the classroom.

Learning for Life

Indiana Academy students enjoy their free time

One of the biggest advantages of the Academy is learning how to succeed beyond high school.

Our Student Life team helps students build the confidence and skills they’ll use long after graduation—from time management and effective study habits to living with a roommate, balancing responsibilities, and advocating for themselves in a college-like environment.

These experiences prepare students not only for college but for life.

Most importantly, they’ll do it alongside classmates who share their curiosity, ambition, and excitement for learning.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be engaged academically, supported personally, and surrounded by students who love learning as much as you do, we’d love to meet you.
