Shadow Days and Private Appointments

Ready to dig deeper after coming to a Discovery Day? Or maybe you’re unable to come to a Discovery Day on the dates we have them. Then you should schedule a Shadow Day or private appointment to experience what the Academy is all about! Depending on your interests and the timing of your visit, we can arrange a variety of activities to help you and your family learn more about this exceptional environment for high-achieving students.

Options include:

Shadow Day

Prospective students can spend the day here experiencing an Academy class or two or more while paired with an Academy Student Ambassador. This Shadow Day is a great way to experience being an Academy student. Participate in our collegiate-level and innovative classes taught by our nationally ranked faculty, tour the residence hall – including a room, chat with current students, learn more about the admissions process, and so much more! Parents have the option to meet with Admissions and tour the facilities too.

Private Appointment

If you have questions about the Academy, the application process, or a specific situation, or would like to schedule a tour, please schedule an appointment and select the option you prefer. We offer both in-person and virtual appointments.

Chat with a Student Ambassador

Looking to learn even more about the student experience, such as what the classes are like, the types of clubs that are available, what students do on the weekends, what it’s like being a residential or non-residential student, etc.? Then sign-up for a time to chat with a student ambassador by emailing us at iaadmissions. Please let us know the date(s) and time(s) that works best for you, as well as the platform (Zoom, Webex, telephone, etc.).

Beginning in October, you can join us the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. for a virtual Monthly Chat with our students where you can ask questions of current Academy students or just hang out as others ask questions.
