Alumni Spotlight: Jordan Dauble ’01

Jordan Dauble is a software developer, entrepreneur, and member of the Indiana Academy’s 10th graduating class. He is the owner of SimBlocks.io, a software development company providing the military simulation community with state of the art visualization tools leveraging modern game engine technology.

Originally from in Evansville, Indiana, Jordan was active in elementary and middle school with two other future Academites, Jeff Kuhn and Mike Blandford. Jordan decided to attend the Indiana Academy to participate in an academic environment with highly motivated students and opportunities to take advanced coursework.

Jordan was first inspired to learn computer programming while a student at the Indiana Academy, and after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Computer Science, he turned his passion for writing code into a successful career.

Prior to launching his own business, Jordan had the opportunity to work for some of the top simulation companies in the world, including Meggitt Training Systems, Cubic Corporation, Havok, and Microsoft. Developing virtual military training applications is very rewarding because the end user will receive valuable and potentially life-saving experience. Knowing that a soldier is ultimately going to train using the systems that the modeling and simulation community provides motivated Jordan to continue writing high quality software and ultimately start a company to meet the virtual training needs of defense forces.

Jordan has co-authored several papers on computer graphics and software development, and he is also pursuing graduate studies in the field of Modeling and Simulation at the University of Central Florida.>

Jordan recently graduated from Starter Studio, Orlando’s premier 3-month business acceleration program and is currently leading his company through the 5-year UCF Business Incubation Program.

Jordan says his 2-year experience at the Academy was absolutely life-changing and an amazing opportunity for personal growth and life-long friendships. The Academy taught Jordan not to be afraid of failure. He would also like to credit two Academy professors, Ms. Fallon and Ms. Cunningham, whose exceptional teaching abilities had a profound and lasting effect on his career goals.

Concerning athletics, our cross country and track teams absolutely crushed everyone during our senior year. Under Coach Harman, the boys cross country and track teams both not only won their conference meets but finished with records of 118-17 and 10-1 respectively against other teams. Individually, Jordan finished second in the 1-mile and first in the 2-mile at the Conference track meet.

There is still so much to say about my experience at the Academy, but if any future Academite reads this, my recommendation is to go for it.

Jordan currently lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife and son.
